Welcome
Church of the Redeemer welcomes your children! We invite you to come and see what God is doing with us and in the lives of our kids. The Children’s Ministry seeks to walk with parents to lead children into a growing personal relationship with Jesus.
Sunday Worship
Children born after 9/1/2008 are invited to the nursery for the length of the worship service. Younger children will enjoy welcoming arms and play, while older children will enjoy a semi-structured time of stories, songs, play, and relationships.
Children in preK-5th grade worship with their parents during the first part of the service and then are dismissed downstairs for age-level classes (Redeemer’s Kids).
For the older nursery kids and for Redeemer’s Kids, we use the Show Me Jesus Curriculum from Great Commission Publications.
LaAmistad After-School
LaAmistad at Church of the Redeemer began in September 2012, primarily focused on serving Latino students from High Point Elementary School. LaAmistad is an after-school program of tutoring, Bible lessons, enrichment, and building relationships between adult volunteers and elementary students. The program began 10 years ago at Peachtree Presbyterian and has won numerous awards. For more information, visit www.laamistadfriendship.org.
Childcare
Appropriate childcare is provided as needed for most church events, such as the Thursday morning women’s Bible study, 3rd Wednesday Dinner & Prayer meeting, and twice a year Inquirer’s Seminar.
Staff
Jimmy Brock is the Director of Children’s Ministry. Feel free to contact him at Jimmy@redeemeratlanta.org or by calling (678.298.1150 x7014). You can also click here to sign up for a weekly newsletter.
Most of our programs are staffed by volunteer church members and one of the most significant components of our ministry is developing relationships between these adults and children in our church. These adults provide another voice (besides parents) in the lives of children to teach and model what it means to follow Jesus. If you are interested in volunteering, contact Jimmy or fill out this interest form. All of our regular volunteers are background checked and follow standard procedures to ensure child safety.
